This year NESD will meet in Washington, D.C. from September 20th – 25th, 2026. Applications are open from February 20th to April 25th, 2026 at 11:59 EST. Interviews will be conducted in May, and final decisions will be sent out by June.
Graduate and undergraduate students are welcome to apply. Eligible students
may pursue studies in the fields of nuclear engineering and related disciplines, not limited to
engineering and sciences. While the delegation initially consisted only of nuclear engineering
students, it has since broadened to include those studying health physics, national security,
economics, public policy, and more.
The application consists of two open-ended questions that hope to capture applicants’ passion for the nuclear industry and connection to public policy. Please contact the chairs with any questions.
