Jillian Newmyer

Jillian Newmyer is a recent graduate from the University of Tennessee with a BS in Nuclear Engineering and a minor in physics. She is originally from Columbia, South Carolina, where her interest in the nuclear industry was peaked due to the closeness of the VC Summer Nuclear Power Plant. She has previously interned at Plant Hatch in Baxley, GA in the Reactor Engineering Department. She will attend Oregon State University in the fall to pursue her Masters of Science in Radiation Health Physics, focusing on radioecology.

Jillian is an active member of the Women in Nuclear and American Nuclear Society chapters at UTK. She previously served as the President of ANS chapter and sometimes write in their newsletter, The Nuclear Noodle.

Jillian is currently spending her summer in Janesville, WI, working as a criticality safety intern at SHINE Medical Technologies. She enjoys spending her free time teaching nuclear science to little kids, catching up on Brooklyn Nine Nine, and playing one of her many board games.
